Highworth
Choral Society is a friendly non-auditioned choir
from a small but historic town in the north-east
corner of Wiltshire. The choir usually performs
three concerts annually in the local area singing
a wide range of music from traditional choral
favourites to lighter modern pieces. |

Concerts
are usually staged in Highworth, with the Christmas concert
at St Michael's Church, the Spring concert at St. Michael's
or Highworth Recreation Centre, dependent upon scale
and content and the Summer concert, with more of a social
element, at Warneford School; all are fairly close to
the town centre. On occasion the choir sings at venues
out of the town and 2009 saw the choir travelling to
sing in Highworth's twin town Pontorson. |

|
Highworth
has had a Choral Society since 1978 and currently has about
50 members, of a wide range of ages and backgrounds and is keen
to accept new members into all voice sections. Although the
choir is non-auditioned the ability to sing tunefully would
be useful and being familiar with reading music even more so.
Prospective new members are always made welcome at any rehearsal
night. Read quotes from our audience and our existing members
on what they think of the society and our performances. |

Since
January 2014, our Musical Director has been Jacki Pattenden. We work with professional soloists and
orchestras for some works but prefer to use homegrown
talent whenever possible. We have gained a reputation
for concerts of the highest quality. |
